Dear Ali,
May the Lord bless every step of your new adventure. May He open your eyes to His world, the parts you are about to see. May He grant the desire of your heart to return to Africa some day. Thank you for every word you've written here as it has touched my heart and soul.

God bless...

Whoever in prayer can say "Our Father", acknowledges, and should feel the brotherhood of all mankind. (with apologies to Tyron Edwards)

Each new day after today will present you with opportunities to feel that brotherhood. You will find your way to the place God has planned for you and you'll go there with great joy, giving of yourself unselfishly along the way. You must pray that the way be long, full of adventures and experience. Life is about the living... live each day with all your heart. And be safe.

Blessings on you and HoJ, and your journey together as you follow our Lord's guiding. This verse was in a bathroom on our recent bike ride, and also in one of the devotions last fall in Benin: "This is the only thing the Lord asks of you; to act justly, to love tenderly, and to walk humbly with your God." from Micah 6:8. I will keep you in my prayers as you continue your humble walk, and pray our paths will cross again! I will look forward to any and all updates of the journey, for these also guide me in mine. Love to you both.

A few weeks back our sunday preach was on John 12:1-8 and i am struck how your time on the ship has been an outpouring of your lives, a fragrant perfume that has filled the ship and floated across the globe. Mary's hair after she wiped Jesus feet must have smelt strongly of the perfume, her worship to God. Wherever she went for days after, people would be blessed with this fragrant perfume. As you travel, may you carry with you the fragrance of worship that you've poured out, may many lives be blessed.

I'm saying the shehecheyanu for you now -- new adventures! -- and I will think of you every time it pops into my mind until you return. Wishing you safe but mind- and heart-stretching travels, and all good things on your journey.
