Hi Ali :-) I've been following your blog the last week or so, and I read it from beginning to your most recent entry. I have so much respect for what you're doing on the Mercy Ships - I'm a NICU nurse, and I have a huge heart for sick little ones as well :-) I just wanted to let you know that what you write touches my heart each time I read it. Your stories have made me laugh and cry and wish that I could do what you do, and love on those precious little African children.

I'm praying for your ministry over in Benin, that you will fall in love with it as much as you did Liberia. An interesting aside: my husband's best friend did a stint in the peace corps in benin :-) Small world.

Hope this doesn't seem stalker-y, but it makes me happy to read about people who love kids as much as I do. Thanks so much for doing what the rest of us are so scared to do. You are truly a vessel of God.

Kpwede kpwede. Stop. Look around.

Something we all need to do! Thanks for the reminder.

In Swahili they have a word that means all that as well: Pole Pole (Pol-ay, pol-ay). It slips off my tongue sometimes here in the USA, and people look at me strange. Americans really need that kind of a word. Slow down! Take it easy! It's okay. You'll be fine. Love your writing!
