My sister Lottie was also born weighing 2lb 2oz... in London, 1987. She was one of the smallest babies the NICU had ever cared for.
What was a rough and lonely road then is now rather more well-trodden, they hadn't even started giving babies surfactant when Lottie arrived. After a rough few months, eleven pneumothoraxes, and a nasty brush with bronchiolitis, she's now fine. More than fine really, a good four inches taller than me, she went to Cambridge University and is now a music teacher in a big, successful high school.
Lily is beautiful, and I'm sure that she will be just fine. I can't offer to pray but thoughts of strength and love are directed at this little one and her parents.
