Oh Ali, I'm so, so sorry that Anicette is unhealthy. But I'm so, so happy that she and her mama are on the ship with you. May God give you and the others wisdom and insight and strength. May God instill in Ani's mama9 the strong desire to not give up on the miracles He can do. And may God heal Baby Ani.
I will be praying for Anicette. I don't know what to say - as a mom, I am just sad. Sad that there are children all over the world that don't get what they need to be healthy. Thank you for all that you do to help these children.
Hi Ali, This is Matthew Johnson's dad. You met Matthew in August 2008 when my wife Cathy brought him to Mercy ship with his cleft lip and pallet while you were in Liberia.
It breaks my heart to read Anicette's story. I can imagine how hard you worked to get her ready for surgery. I do know how hard it's been to keep Matthew growing as he's never been one to want to eat. I imagine all his surgeries made anything to his mouth not very inviting. We get most of his calories in via his G-tube and Pedia-sure. I would bet that Annicette's mom is fighting that same battle without the help we can get here in Minnesota.
No kid should have to go through that. I sure wish I had an answer. She and her family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Thankfully she has the people of Mercy ship to help her have a chance.

Oh. Ani has been my favorite from your blog...I've thought about and prayed for her almost every day since you first shared her with us. But I thought I was praying for a healthy baby now...I'm so sad. Thank you for loving these little ones and their families. Our family will keep praying, specifically for Ani's situation.
