New Zealand!!! I live here in NZ, have been following your blog for a couple of months, I really enjoy catching up on your posts and all that you are doing there in Togo. Places which are a must see in NZ are Rotorua, Taupo, and the South Island - specifically Queenstown. Depends on how much time you have here as to what you can fit in, but I would say that those 3 are must do's. Queenstown is great for adventure sports, but is also beautiful and scenic. Rotorua is great for kiwi culture.
Hope that is some help :-)

My husband and I are wimpy Americans - I hate to admit - and we probably never would have traveled to India if we didn't have children from there. :-)

We only spent one week in India, but there is so much to see. It is an amazing place. The Agra area has so much to see. We had this great Indian/Muslim guide who took us to Agra Fort, Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri - an early Mughal palace built by Emperor Akbar. The guide was key. He could explain what we were seeing and tell stories of what happened in these places. It was fascinating! He really made them come alive.

Other than being in New Delhi where our children were, that was all we saw on our trip there. We plan to return to India in the next four to six months to get our son, whom we are in the process of adopting. We also look forward to returning with the kids in the future and participate in some ministry there so that our kids can experience their culture and have a heart to contribute to India in some way.

I can't wait to vicariously go on your trip with you!

Thanks so much for blogging, and I look forward to the RTW posts!

For ideas, etc., check out sixintheworld.com, by a family who went RTW for a year. It's not only a great read, but lots of good advice and ideas of where to go and what to do and how to do it.

I spent some time in Khajuraho, India, and of all the places I went to in India, it was my absolute favourite. Small, quiet town that is also a UNESCO world heritage site (due to some temples that are there... and are amazing). A nice break from the busy, bustling cities of India!

Ali, I arrived at your blog from challies.com. My husband, 4 kids and I are Americans living in Windhoek, Namibia and would love to host you when you come through Namibia. Etosha, Erinidi (game lodge), the Fish River canyon and the towns of Swakopmund and Luderitz are great places to visit. I enjoy your blog. My grandfather was a missionary in Liberia and other parts of West Africa for 30 years with SIM so your posts from there were especially touching to me. Enjoy your around the world venture!

I'm sincerely praying that your RTW trip includes visiting us. I've been hoping for it ever since you mentioned the possibility months ago.

I've been in Zambia! I know you have, too, and for a much longer period of time than I, but it was a lovely place to visit. There was a BEAUTIFUL resort near Ndola that involved a lake, baboons, and Army tents...I can't remember the name, but I can easily find it if you wish :-)
