I am so sorry for your pain. Your heart is what makes you you. Your works are so important and so so hard. That is what makes you so special. I will continue to keep the little ones in my prayers each and every day. As well as you to help you keep going. You are strong and an extremely special person who has touched so many of our hearts.

ali,
for you to stop wouldn't only be a tragedy for you...it would also be a tragedy for the little ones who are destined to come, to meet you, to be cared for by you.
i'm sorry that it hurts so much, and if i could help shoulder the pain, i would in a heart beat. i know that there are many hearts breaking right alongside yours, His included.
but, if it makes any difference...think of how much richer those lives had been for encountering the love that you've shown. i know that they are richer for it, because i have seen you in action. there is no way of denying your huge heart for the patients and their families in the wards.
i know that many times, words don't bring much comfort, but i hope that maybe these few have. if not, i like hugs. :-)

That has got to be hard. Trusting that God keeps these precious children in His arms just as you keep them in your heart. I am praying for you.

ohhhh...sweet sister, there are no words to speak that can bring lasting comfort out of the pain you have had in losing little ones except maybe, maybe these words..."Your will be done." and knowing that if His will is to bring them home to Him, that it is good. Who are we to know what is truly good in the Father's eyes when it comes to the number of our days? What we do know is that He is holy and His love is unfailing (Ps. 33:20-23 NLT) Praying for you to receive the healing in your heart from the Healer Himself.

You are in my prayers. I wish I could do or say more to encourage you, but will have the Holy Spirit speak and act for me. God bless you Ali.

Oh no, not Maomai. That is so heartbreaking. She was always special to me since i donated my blood to her. I can't believe she's gone. I hate that I can never see reason for God to take one so young and innocent. But somehow I know that God does have purpose in allowing these things to happen and even if we never understand, He promises to "work all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes." ~ Rom 8:28. I guess we just have to trust God on this one. I can't wait to come back to Africa to help make a difference again. Remember that even when our little patients die, that is not a failure. Only God knows how far the love of God shown to Maomai's mum by all of the crew will really extend.
I'm praying for you and all the crew, Ali. All the best,
Sarah.

How can you NOT love, Ali? It would be like not breathing. Loving isn't something you do... it's who you are. God sees you struggling to cope and He will give you the tools. We each arrive with our own God-given timetable and no matter how hard we strive to change that timetable for others, God has a plan for each of us. Your dream about Maurius and his grandchildren came to you from somewhere and I'd wager on Him. He has given you a glimpse of the future to help you survive the now. Gentle hugs.
