Thanks, Ali... I needed this today. Just found a few of my old journals as I cleaned out the back of my closet last week...

It is amazing how often we can live in bondage when we serve a God who grands us freedom of all those horrible wordly things. I know I did similar things as well and am thankful that they are in the past where I can leave them. I have repented of them and been forgiven for them and life continues as a more refined servant.

This is beautiful, the change from shame to quiet confidence. Thanks!

If it's not too late you might need to shred or burn your old journals to keep your own privacy.

Just found your blog and I love it! I, too, have some journals from high school. I've been avoiding looking at them because I know they contain some very selfish entries. I love the way you describe the feeling you got from throwing them away. Food for thought!

Ali,
You shouldn't be ashamed. You were a child, immature and then you grew up, or more accurately, you're growing up.
It's what people do, well, most of them.
I love the blog, bless you and your writing.
