Watching this makes me want to get on the next plane out. However, I'm here raising five kids of my own. Probably not practical to leave them behind... : ) What can I do to help?
There's so many ways you can help from home! The biggest thing we rely on is prayer; there's no way we could be in West Africa and do what we do without the prayers of faithful supporters back home who aren't able to physically be there.
If you want to help financially, you can either give a gift directly to Mercy Ships or to an individual crew member. We have a 'gift catalogue' similar to what World Vision does, but not as extensive: http://www.mercyships.org/index.php/pages/gift_catalog
If you wanted to sponsor a crew member you can go to this page: http://mercyships-us.donorpages.com/crewmates/ and either search by name or open up a list and pick someone that jumps out at you.
Just the fact that you want to help and are asking how is a step so many don't even take. =)
