Your new home is beautiful! I hope you'll experience reduced stress and that Zoe will find her sleeping skills soon. Merry Christmas!

So excited for you! Thank you for posting photos. It looks like you will get some exercise walking up and down the long narrow room there too! :-) Can you believe those windows? What a gift. I hope this relieves your stress a LOT regarding Zoe's sleep. She'll get there. My own son was 11 months when we adopted him so I don't know how he was BEFORE we got him, but he never napped AFTER we got him unless it was in my arms and he would startle awake like, "that was a mistake! I'm not asleep!" within 15 minutes. The thing that saved us (at night) in the end was a crib tent. We bought it because he climbed out of his crib (at 11 months) because he didn't like night sleeping either. For some reason that soothed him. He still resisted, but he got it. Now he's 7 and he only recently stopped popping out of bed every five minutes and standing in front of us... ;-) Good times! Truly though, for all our frustration it has bonded us like nothing else. Hope that's not the equivalent of a woman telling her labor and delivery story while you're pregnant. ha!

"That was a mistake! I'm not asleep!" Oh, how well I can relate to that one... And maybe hearing that it took 7 years for him to sort out his sleep struggles is slightly disheartening, but it does remind me that there's light at the end of this tunnel, however long it might be. =)

Oh how I wish I had a wonderful secret to share in order to get your baby to sleep. I have 5 kids (the youngest is 2 months) and they have all been so different with their sleeping habits. Currently, my baby is asleep on my lap, after a nursing session. There she will stay until either she wakes up or I have to pee. ;-) I wear her a lot and she sleeps in my arms at night. ::shrug:: it works for us. Have you tried a white noise machine? (hmm, I wonder if there's an app for that) Perhaps your move will prove to be the relief you needed.
Blessings to you.

There definitely is an app, and we use it every time she sleeps! :-) It's called "white noise lite" or something of the sort. I can't tell you exactly because she's in her room napping and so the iPod's in there too. She used to take monster naps in the k'tan or moby (1.5 hours - gold for us!) but she's recently decided that it's no better in there and wakes up after 30-40 minutes. =(

Beautiful DIGS! The windows are gorgeous - makes me wonder WHO rented that room when it was a mere cruise ship - but now you are a happy FAMILY serving together - BLESSINGS!

Congratulations on your family cabin! I'm so pleased and happy for you all. The light, the sound-proofed walls, the space will do you good. Happy Christmas!

Your new home is beautiful (and spacious)! Having a little space, and Zoe having some space of her own for napping (ha!), may be just the thing you need to get in your groove. Now that housing is settled, I hope that good sleep soon follows.

Ooooh, wow, that's exciting, Ali! Merry Christmas, and I hope that you enjoy the pieces out of that new cabin. I'm loving the windows! I hope that your little pickle decides that her new room is perfect for loooooooooooong sleeps.
