I have found that my children take the same view...anything we do twice, especially around a holiday, becomes tradition in their minds. As a consequence, we have some activities that I certainly never intended to be annual traditions, like visiting the house decorated with a million lights and 1000 inflatables in the yard, where one is obligated to stop and have a photo made with the owner dressed as Rudolph and also to give him a donation for the electric bill. So many of our traditions are accidental, but I love them and love that my children will have those memories.
