Living in Haiti has required me to get creative too. I make my own pita chips just like this... except I'm too lazy to do them all at once. I just cut one pita up and pop it in the toaster oven, which means I only make them when we have power. It never crossed my mind to put a flavoring of some sort on it! I think I'll try this method next time. My husband would probably eat them if they had some garlic salt on them. THANKS FOR SHARING!

I've not made pita chips, but I've done roasted brussel sprouts and garbanzo beans and a personal favorite flavor is a Mexican one... kind of. I like to sprinkle mine with garlic salt, cumin, and ground red pepper. You have to be careful with the red pepper because a little goes a loooong way. But everything else can be added pretty liberally.
We've been saving money lately, so my pita chips have gone by the wayside. I'm definitely going to have to bring them back now! My hummus has missed it's favorite companion. Thanks for sharing!

I've never been a big fan of brussel sprouts, but that actually sounds like a flavour combo I could get on board with! For the garbanzo beans, do you just use the ones out of a can? Because we get those sometimes over here, and I'd really like to try that out.

Yes, the ones out of the can. I just rinsed them and put them in a bowl with a lid. I drizzled them with olive oil and then sprinkled the seasoning over them. I think the recipe is on pinterest though, lol.

I've never been much of a brussel sprouts fan either, but these are absolutely amazing (although the smell is pretty bad). They've pretty much replaced popcorn for me. I eat them as a finger food and even my mom has gotten into them. It's best with fresh brussel sprouts, but I've tried with frozen and that seems to work okay.
