So beautiful. I have thought about that too as a mom. How did Mary survive those moments?!

Thanks for your beautiful word picture. It is so reassuring that Jesus is able to put together all our broken lives purely because of his willingness to be broken.

"Somewhere in the darkness, the tears came, thinking of that other mama two thousand years ago who spent the same night watching her child be torn from her."

Wow and yes.

Ever since having kids, I have looked at the cross differently. The perspective of Mary is heart-wrenching to me. It also helps me see the depth of love on an entirely different level. Your reflection here is touching and beautiful.

Hopping over from Five Minute Friday today.

Have a wonderful Easter weekend.

Thank you Ali, I know she "knew" - but how could she not be a MOM? To think, even from that cruel cross: "When HE saw His mother there, and the disciple whom HE loved stading nearby, HE said to his mother, 'Dear woman, here is your son,' and to the disciple, 'Here is your mother.' John 19:26-27. I cannot even imagine the agony HE was enduring at that moment, but HE knew the heart of his mother and cared for her even then. OH - how HE loves You and me!

Jesus calls us in, sends us out
bearing fruit in a world of doubt,
gives us love to tell, bread to share:
God (Immanuel) everywhere!
Jesus lives again; earth can breathe again.
Pass the Word around: loaves abound!

May the risen Christ bless you and keep you and everyone in your own family and Mercy Ships family through this Easter season and beyond!
