Thank you for this recipe!!! I so needed something like this and I don't have access to them at the store. You are such a blessing to me!

I guess I am really surprised you don't use cloth?? Gracious: so much easier, under the circumstances? (Well, I'm a big advocate of cloth in any case or situation -- healthier for baby and environment, so much less expensive. And given what you need to go through to get them to you aboard ship: why not cloth?).

If we were living on land, my kid would be hanging out in nothing but cloth. Unfortunately, ship life doesn't support it for a number of reasons.

400 of us share 10 washers (if they're all working), and we each get one load of laundry per person per week. Definitely not enough to keep up with diaper laundry. Add in sporadic and unplanned water restrictions, where laundry can be shut for as long as a couple weeks (not good!), and the fact that everyone uses different detergents, all of which would leave nasty buildup, and there's just no way to make it work. The final nail in the coffin is the fact that there's nowhere to hang laundry outside that wouldn't have our nice, clean diapers covered in a layer of black soot within the first 5 minutes.

=( It makes me sad, but disposables it is for now.

I wondered about cloth diapers too, but figured with the 2 min showers restriction water was the issue. Thanks of sharing why you can't use them.

You are seriously awesome! I don't even have a kid and I'm loving this blog (my domestic side is just storing it all up for later). As always I must add that she's just the cutest thing!

Of course! Of course D'oh. I wasn't thinking about the water issues. (Now i feel silly). I'd forgotten about that. Bless. How about ReallyEarly toilet learning?!?

I considered doing EC (Elimination Communication, the fancy name for ReallyEarlyPottyTraining haha) but it turns out my kid is a stealth pooper who HATES getting dressed and undressed. Not really worth it to traumatize her multiple times a day just to miss the actual poop because she was doing it when we least expected, you know? :-)

I live 20 minutes from a Target, but I will totally be making this for my daughter. Thanks for the recipe!

So cool! Thanks Ali, love the pictures! Were you a professional food picture taker before becoming a nurse and a blogger?! So many skills lady. Not mentioning baking skills. And baby building obviously.

No, but my Dad's cousin is one! :-) I did have a VERY small on-the-side photography business while I was working as a nurse; the occasional wedding, but mostly babies and families. I guess that translates well enough to food. ;-)

I am making these tonight. I've got all the ingredients including a kid that doesn't know what has hit him with his first tooth coming in! Thanks for the recipe!

I am making my second batch tonight:)
My 8 month old loves them; I took one to a dinner party with baby and the mom was very impressed with how well these biscuits hold up! Thanks so much, love the pure ingredients and also the fact that a recipe search led me to your blog. You take awesome photos AMD your life seems pretty amazing!

Welcome! Glad you found this little corner of the internet and that your little one likes the biscuits. :-) I'm currently mourning the fact that we don't have access to ovens all summer long and I've just run out. Bad timing since my kid is actually finally teething now. So enjoy them for me! :-)
